PageRank is Still Important

What is PageRank(PR)? According to wikipedia, PageRank is a link analysis algorithm that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references. The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is also called the PageRank of E and denoted by PR(E). In simple words PageRank determines the importance of a single page or a website.

A few weeks ago, Google updated its PageRank figures. There are websites that increased their PR and there are also those sites that have encountered a decrease in PR. There are many web users who claim that PR is not that important in search engines ranking nowadays. If we can see, there are websites that have decreased their PR but yet remain in a better position in the Search Engine results. But thinking that PR is not that significant was just a misconception. According to Google, "The heart of our software is PageRank™, a system for ranking web pages developed by our founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University. And while we have dozens of engineers working to improve every aspect of Google on a daily basis, PageRank continues to play a central role in many of our web search tools." Google always makes some updates and still making some ways to improve their ranking algorithm. So if you are one of those people who said that PR is no longer important, think again. Read though Google Technology and discover what's true about PageRank and how Google use it to deliver relevant results. Read more…

The Most Expensive Dessert

Last year, the record for the most expensive dessert was given to Golden Opulence, a $1,000 ice cream sundae at Serendipity 3 New York. Now, Serendipity 3 has broken its old record and set a new Guiness World Record for the most expensive dessert in the world. Stephen Bruce, the owner of Serendipity 3, teamed up with luxury jeweler Euphoria New York to create the "Frrozen Haute Chocolate", a $25,000 chocolate sundae. Frrozen Haute Chocolate is a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive from around the globe. Not only that, this sundae is also infused with 5 grams of edible 23-karat gold and served goblet lined with edible gold. The base of the goblet has a 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat with diamonds. This sundae is also top with whipped cream covered with gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschildt Chocolatier, which sells for $2,600 a pound. Frrozen Haute Chocolate is eaten with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds, which can also be taken home. (Great!)
